“BRIBES” ist ein schöner französischer Begriff, der im abstrakten Sinn Fragmente beschreibt, Beispielsweise die zufälligen Bruchstücke einer Diskussion, die man aus akustischen Gründen nur partiell mitbekommt.
Bei dem Konzert “BRIBES” in der Weinhandlung Kreis sind Fragmente von zwei Programme im gleichen Abend zu entdecken: ein mini Portrait-Konzert von Jesse Ronneau und ein Blick in dem Projekt OTTO.
Im ersten Teil ist ein Portrait-Fragment des irisch-amerikanischen Komponistes Jesse Ronneau. Die zwei Stücke Atlas (Richter 0) für Live-Elektronik und Fata Morgana für zwei Celli geben einen Überblick in seine Arbeit als Komponist, Computer-Musiker, Cellist und Improvisator.
Im zweiten Teil werde ich die von mir und dem Bildhauer Aldo van den Broek kreierte Klang-Skulptur OTTO präsentieren und mit dem Computermusiker Oliver S. Frick bespielen. OTTO wurde von Instrumenten inspiriert, die in den Schützengräben des Ersten Weltkriegs aus Alltagsgegenständen und Materialresten hergestellt wurden. Das Projekt ist im Work in Progress und streckt sich bis 2018.

‘BRIBES’

‘Bribes’ (bree-bah) is a wonderful French expression that, in abstract, denotes fragments or scraps. For example, the random splinters of a conversation one might only partially overhear, the whole of the discussion remaining unclear.
On the concert, ‘Bribes’, at the wine shop, Weinhandlung Kreis, one will hear fragments of two programs in a single evening: a mini Portrait-concert of Jesse Ronneau and a glimpse at the Project Otto.
In the first half is a portrait-fragment of the Irish-American composer, Jesse Ronneau. The two pieces, Atlas (Richter 0) for live electronics and Fata Morgana for two celli, give an overview of his work as composer, computer musician, cellist and improviser.
In the second half I will present the sound-sculpture OTTO, created by myself and the sculptor Aldo van den Broek. I will be accompanied by the computer musician, Oliver Frick. OTTO was inspired by instruments that were cobbled together in the trenches of World War I from everyday objects and scraps of materials.
This project is a work in progress and will continue until 2018.
